Kollu Thuvayal

Thuvayal always best goes in par with any coconut curries as a side dish.
And this kollu thuvayal is really interesting.





You need:

Kollu parupu ( Horsegram dal ) - Handful
Kadala parupu ( Bengalgram dal ) - 1 tsp
Ulutham parupu ( Urad dal ) - 1 tsp
Red chillies - 4
Coconut - 3 tbsp
Tamarind - a small size
Jaggery - 1 tbsp

Method :

In a pan, heat a tbsp oil.
Add in the kollu parupu and saute until the dal turns more brown.


Keep aside.
In the same pan, add all the others dals, red chillies and coconut, tamarind and jaggery.


After few minutes, let the stuff get cooled and grind to a coarse powder - paste kind.
The Thuvayal is now ready.
