Fried Puffed Rice


One of my best childhood snack. Even now !!!!!!
I am in all delight to type its recipe...







Ingredients :
Puffed Rice ( salted ) -500 gm packet 
Peanuts - 250 gm
Roasted gram ( chutney dal ) - 200 gm
Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
Sambar powder - 2 tbsp
Oil - 5 tbsp
Garlic Flakes - Handful
Curry Leaves - Handful
Curd Chillies ( Fried ) - 4 or 5

Method :

  • Take a wide pan and dry roast the puffed rice. Check the salt of the puffed rice and if you feel they are bland, sprinkle some salt and dry roast for few secs to make them crispier and keep aside in a bowl.
  • In the same pan, heat oil, and roast the peanuts until they are crisp and brown.
  • Add in the roasted dal, curry leaves, garlic flakes, and roast till they change their color and crisp.
  • Add in the turmeric powder, sambar powder and crush in the fried curd chillies.

  • Add in the Puffed rice.
  • Switch off the flame and in the pan heat, toss them all well and store in a tight closed vessel once the mixture sets on to the room temperature.
These are excellent to eat while tea times or as and when you feel like eating them.
