Kerala Sambar


The aroma of the Kerala Sambar is fantastic.
As well the taste.
Goes well for Dosa and rice.





Ingredients Reqd:




Bengal Gram Dal - 2sp
Urad Dal - 2sp
Fenugreek Seeds - 1/4 sp
Coreander Seeds - 3sp
Red chillies - 4,5
Coconut - Quarter Cup
Vegetable - Lady Finger, Drumstick, Potato, Small Onions-- Any vegetable of your choice
Tamarind - A small lemon size
Toor Dal - 1/4 cup

Method:

Soak the tamarind in hot water and squeeze out the juice from it.
Add water, turmeric, salt and the vegetable and allow to cook until the vegetable is cooked 3/4th
Next boil the toor dal and keep aside.
In a pan season bengal gram dal, urad dal, fenugreek seeds, coreander seeds and red chillies.
Add in the coconut also and once chilled, fine paste the mixture.
Mix the boiled dal and the grinded paste together in tamarind veg water and allow
to cook for another 10 minutes.
Season mustard and curry leaves and top on the curry.
