Poondu / Garlic Rasam


The garlic rasam gets too tempting to taste, a the aroma will urge your hunger and will bring you on the Dining Table in no time :-)

 
 
Ingredients :

Garlic - 1 big size full round ( around 15 garlic pods )
Tamarind - small lemon sized
Green Chilli - 3
Pepper Corns - 1 tbsp
Red Chillie - 1
Curry Leaves - Few
Tomato - 1 small sized
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp

Method :
  1. To a 1 spoon oil of your choice, add Garlic around 8, Green Chilli, Pepper Corns, Cumin Seeds and saute for a while.

Let it cool, and make into fine or coarse powder of your preference.
  1. Squeeze out the Tamarind juice, and the grinded powder into it.
  2. Add in enough salt, and a pinch of turmeric powder.
  3. In a pan, add 3 tbsp coconut oil, splutter mustard seeds, curry leaves and red chillies and the remaining crushed garlic.
Add this mixture into the rasam portion.
  1. Allow for 1 boil.

  1. Add 1 tbsp Perungayam powder.
  2. Garnish with lots Coreander leaves.
